Business Development Leader

Company Description:

Our client is a privately held, national commercial real estate development, investment, and advisory firm. They specialize in the development of speculative and single-tenant build-to-suit facilities, the creation of mixed-use and multifamily communities, and the acquisition of institutional-grade real estate in key markets.


Position Description:

The ideal candidate will assist with client relations, market underwriting, transaction management, and site evaluation. They will ultimately co-lead either a market or an account under the supervision of the SVP account leader or market leader.

Responsibilities: 

In the case of a market:

  • Manage and organize market information and inform investment thesis with the supervision of the SVP.
  • Assist with the development of all required investment documentation required by the investment committee.
  • Foster and grow relationships with brokers, consultants and contractors as well as other local stakeholders and team members.
  • Manage the processing of documents related to purchasing, leasing, development and settlement.
  • Oversee coordination with other team members and lead the group to investment conclusions.
  • Manage RFP responses and co-ordinate with internal marketing team to draft, finalize and submit.
  • Develop awareness of market metrics to inform land acquisition decisions

In the case of an account:

  • Coordinate account specific meetings and calls.
  • Organize and draft RFP responses
  • Lead, document and organize land purchase documents, development agreements, and client specific requests.
  • Establish relationships with the account lead and other account stakeholders (construction, finance, legal, etc.)
  • Work with SVP to maximize the account’s profitability and durability.
  • Track overall account performance and identify growth opportunities

General:

  • Identify new account opportunities
  • Assist with business planning
  • Grow in broader business knowledge

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of real estate transaction experience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Strong analytical and underwriting skills
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to achieve business objectives
