Founded in 1985, our client is a vertically integrated multifamily real estate firm that owns and operates a diverse portfolio of approximately $13.3 billion in AUM, 49,000 units across 30+ U.S. markets. With deep expertise in both conventional and affordable housing, the platform spans development, acquisitions, property/asset management, and general contracting. The firm is institutionally owned and led by a senior management team with an average of 25 years of industry experience and 14 years of corporate tenure.


Position Description:

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Capital Markets will primarily be focused on single-asset and programmatic equity capital formation for development projects, with secondary responsibility for marketing the firm’s acquisition fund vehicles. The individual will work directly with the President of Development and Head of Capital Markets and be responsible for growing the investor base with qualified institutional investors, most notably, insurance companies, capital allocators, and private capital sources. The SVP will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with investors, negotiating term sheets and capital structures, and communicating investor needs to the company’s development and investment professionals.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal savvy that is supported by a solid technical understanding of the multi-family development sector and excellent written and oral communication skills. This person will manage existing relationships as well as establish targets for new relationships, carefully crafting the messaging and customizing an approach for potential investors.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep experience with capital raising
  • Demonstrated capital relationships with insurance companies, capital allocators, and private capital sources
  • Motivated, creative self-starter with strong negotiation skills, entrepreneurial drive, and ability to thrive in a results-driven environment.
  • Thorough familiarity with multifamily development and institutional investment processes

  • Ability to travel

 EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and significant relevant real estate experience
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-family investment and/or institutional capital raising
